About Us

How it Started

Bedlam Farms Organic, formerly known as HolmSelect, was born out of two family owned farming companies – M.F.Martin Ltd and Bedlam Farms. For four generations both companies had been at the forefront of farming in the Cambridgeshire Fens and in 2006 Clive Martin made the decision to convert one third of the farm into specialist organic vegetable production. We started with Organic Asparagus and over the years have developed a wide range of produce for our customers.

Organically Grown & Packed Onsite

All of our produce is grown to the highest standard and is certified by Organic Farmer’s & Growers. Nothing is sold that is not grown on our own farm enabling our customers to be assured that they are receiving excellent fresh quality vegetables that have been grown sustainably and that have travelled no further than 1 mile from the field to the packhouse.

Our farm has a wide range of soil types which enables us to match our crops with the conditions they prefer. We value and nurture our soils to produce healthy and well fed plants which have good resistance to pests and disease. We have reservoirs and an underground main system around the farm to ensure that are crops are well watered during a dry Summer.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated and highly skilled team of staff who are trained in modern organic growing techniques and harvesting and packing machinery. All of our produce passes though our packhouse where it is assessed and packed to our customers’ individual specifications.

We are members of the Higher Level Stewardship and the Organic Entry Level Stewardship Schemes and are a LEAF marque registered farm. We also belong to the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme and hold assurance certificates relevant to all our retail customers.
